Shihab Shaheen’s ‘Cafe Umbrella’ Premieres on iScreen

Shihab Shaheen’s latest web film, Cafe Umbrella, made its exclusive debut on iScreen, the OTT platform of Channel i, on October 29. Produced by Impress Telefilm and presented by Lux, the project weaves four distinct love stories involving four couples into a cohesive narrative. The screenplay and direction come from Shaheen, who explores themes of love, misunderstandings, emotional conflicts, and relationship complexities through parallel narratives that eventually converge. The production included a special acting workshop for the cast members prior to filming to ensure they were fully prepared for their roles. This film marks the acting debut of the top three contestants from Lux Superstar 2025: Bidushi Barnita, Nazah Nawar, and Amina Islam. They appear opposite veteran actors Tawsif Mahbub, Partha Sheikh, and Arefin Zilani, respectively. The story also follows a fourth couple portrayed by Saidur Rahman Pavel and Sanjida Tasnim. Additionally, actors Saberi Alam and Shirin Alam take on significant supporting roles in the production. The project stands as a significant milestone for the contestants, showcasing their talent on a major digital platform while highlighting the power of storytelling in modern cinema.
