Real Madrid defender Militao’s home burgled during Clasico match

Real Madrid defender Eder Militao’s residence was broken into during his team’s 2-1 victory over Barcelona on Sunday. Reports published on Saturday indicate that intruders entered through a third-floor bathroom window and ransacked the bedroom. They removed bags, watches, and jewelry with a total estimated value of €350,000 or $391,000. Militao sat on the bench for the match while his family viewed the game on the ground floor. They failed to notice any suspicious activity inside the house. This incident marks the most recent wave of thefts targeting prominent footballers across Spain. Former Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang endured an armed robbery in 2022 that resulted in a broken jaw. Additionally, Real Betis forward Troy Parrott and former Paris St Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico fell victim to robberies this month. The pattern suggests a growing trend of crime directed at high-profile athletes in the Spanish football landscape.
